Think of a particle moving in a circle If it moves slowly enough, all you see is the particle, not the circle If it moves faster, you see the particle and the circle If it moves much faster, you see the circle and not the particle If this is the case, perhaps the particle is simply the path of some other movement And all we have is layer on layer of movements
